About Service-Finder

Are you looking for a Web service? Do you want to avoid re-inventing the wheel because you'd prefer exploiting existing services? Service-Finder is the place for you! Up to today, we made available searching in more than 25.000 services with 200.000 related Web pages.

Service-Finder portal is the outcome of an innovative project which aims at providing a unique point to search and access existing Web services on the Web. Service-Finder is made up of different components, namely:

  • a Service Crawler that gathers existing services on the Web (e.g., it collects WSDL definitions and related documentation);
  • an Automatic Annotator that analyses the crawled information to make sense of the data (e.g. it categorizes services with regards to the Service Category ontology and related documents with regards to the Service Finder ontology) [2];
  • a Conceptual Indexer and Matcher that stores the information about the services, their provider and their documentation in optimized data structures (e.g., it uses a Semantic Web middleware with F-logic inference for the structured data and a text search engine for unstructured data);
  • a Cluster Engine that collects information about the interaction of the users with the portal to provide service recommendations;
  • a Semantic Portal that allows final users to search and browse through available services and to actively collaborate to service description.

Register yourself today! For registered users, several functionalities are available: tagging, categorizing and rating existing services; suggesting new services to be added to the system [1]; experimenting the invocation of available operations via a simple Web form [1].

Please, be aware that this is an experimental portal and that we are continuously improving the system to provide you a more and more useful service. Feel free to send us your feedbacks.
